THE EMPTINESS OF SELF-IDOLATRY

A basic truth I’ve missed probably all my life:
Watching all those suffering in Ukraine & I thought how I just wouldn’t have endurance or the will to persevere. But then I watched the interviews with those who are enduring great tribulation. All spoke about a loved one: women who wouldn’t leave if their husband was staying to fight, daughters worried about their mothers, and mothers all consumed with concern for their children.
How can we press on if it’s only for ourselves? How can we love if the love is only directed toward ourselves?

We were in Jerusalem due to the generosity of God’s peo people—and their joy at extending this gift toward was a joy to behold!
